When do I require a permit?
If the remodeling and/or addition changes the structural condition of the home in any manner or includes electrical, plumbing, or mechanical changes of any kind, a permit is required.
Any structure 200 square feet or greater, or any structure regardless of size that will require plumbing and/or electricity needs a permit.

As a homeowner can I pull a permit?
Yes, if it is your primary residency (not a rental property). However, you must complete and register an Owner/Builder Disclosure form and file it with Pickens County, as required by South Carolina State law. You can download that form here.
How do I submit commercial building plans for review?
Mail or deliver two (2) stamped hard copies to City of Easley Building Department, attention Tor Ellstrom. 205 N 1st St., Easley, SC 29640
